Where to go on your next Binondo Food Trip?

1. TASTY DUMPLINGS

Location/s: Wellington Building, Norberto Ty Street, Binondo, Manila
tasty dumplings for your next binondo food trip

Tasty Dumplings is a traditional Chinese restaurant that specializes in steamed and fried dumplings. Located in the heart of Chinatown, it offers an amazing selection of freshly made dumplings, large pork chops, noodles, and other Chinese dishes.

Steamed and Fried Kuchay Dumplings from Tasty Dumplings

We ordered a mix of fried and steamed Kuchay dumplings. Personally, I prefer the steamed version! This is definitely one of the best dumplings I’ve ever had.

Pork Chop from Tasty Dumplings

The pork chops are cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. Don’t leave without trying their famous large pork chops—your taste buds will thank you!

In addition, the pork chops are served with soup and noodles topped with pickles. I have never tried noodles with pickles before! It sounds odd, but the saltiness of the pork chops balances out the sweetness of the pickles. It may not be for everyone, but if you are a little adventurous, it’s worth a shot.

2. Eng Bee Tin Chinese Deli (Pasalubong Stop)

Location: 682 Ongpin Street

Eng Bee Tin, Ongpin Street

Just a few steps from Tasty Dumplings, we visited Eng Bee Tin Chinese Deli! We were surprised by how big the store was. It’s fully air-conditioned, push carts are available for your convenience, and they have almost every Chinese snack you can imagine.

Must Try: Golden Pork Floss Hopia and Cashew Marcipan

3. Chuan Kee

Location: 650 Ongpin Street, Binondo, Manila

Chinoy Fried Chicken from Chuan Kee

On the same street as Eng Bee Tin Chinese Deli, you will come across Chuan Kee, a very busy Chinese fast food joint. My dad asked me to check if this was still up and running since it was one of his favorite restaurants as a kid.

Eggtart from Lord Stow's Bakery

Also along Ongpin Street, we tried the popular egg tart from Lord Stow’s Bakery. It has a very milky flavor with a light sweetness to it.

5. Bee Tin Grocery (Pasalubong Stop)

Location: 735 Ongpin Street, Binondo, Manila

Just a few steps away from Lord Stow’s Bakery, you will see the Bee Tin Grocery. Compared to Eng Bee Tin Deli, this is a full-blown grocery store that sells almost every Asian snack and spice you can think of. They even have my favorite instant coffee brands from Malaysia and Vietnam!

They have the instant coffee that I would normally buy in Vietnam and Malaysia

6. The Original Shanghai Fried Siopao

Location: 828 Ongpin Street, Binondo, Manila

No Binondo food trip will be complete without trying the TikTok viral Fried Siopao. This was my first time trying fried siopao in general. It tastes like a normal siopao but with a crispier and flakier crust. I would enjoy this as a snack on a regular basis!

7. Oishiekun Chinese Bites

Location: 838, Ongpin Street, Manila

Take a few steps from Shanghai Fried Siopao and you’ll see Oishiekun Chinese Bites. Make sure you try its best-selling authentic youtiao (Chinese Bicho)!

8. Grand Cafe 1919

Location: 117, Juan Luna Street

Upon entering the restaurant, you really feel how grand it is. They provide you with an upscale ambiance that will almost convince you that you’re in a 5-star hotel.

Must try: Taro Cloud Roll & 4 Cheese Pizza

9. BONUS: ToHo Panciteria Antigua

We didn’t eat here on the same day as our Binondo Food Trip; however, our family has been going to ToHo Panciteria Antigua for decades. This has been a staple restaurant for our family whenever we’re craving authentic Chinese food. This is by far my absolute favorite Chinese restaurant. Furthermore, Toho is arguably one of the oldest restaurants in Binondo, with its operations dating back to the 1800s.

Must try: Yang Chow Fried Rice, Beef with Broccoli, Pinsec Frito, Fried Chicken, Pancit Canton, and Camaron Rebosado.
